Hillside’s Regional Permanency Resource Center (RPRC) provides post-adoption and family support services to adoptive families or families who have been granted legal guardianship of a child/youth. These services are designed to help support permanency for children/youth living in adoptive families or living with a legal guardian. The needs of families continue to evolve and adoption and legal guardianship/kinship caregiver support is critical to help families meet the ongoing needs of their children/youth.

About this Program

RPRC services are available to eligible adoptive and legal guardianship families, free of charge. Services are provided by experienced adoptive parents and other adoption professionals. We understand the challenges families experience at times, and the struggles they may face. We can assist families after adoption finalization when and if issues arise. We also provide support to kinship care families, including relative caregivers (grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc.) who have assumed legal guardianship of a family member.

Participating families will be connected to a Permanency Specialist who will provide support services related to educational, parenting and behavioral issues. The Permanency Specialist will also assist families with referrals to other community resources as needed. Parent support groups are provided on an ongoing basis.

Services include:

  • Information and assistance with referral to services, including 24/7 crisis management
  • Individual advocacy and support
  • Monthly support groups and family-focused social/recreational programs
  • Parent education groups, trauma-informed trainings and family-oriented workshops
  • Adoption competency training for parents and professionals
